Guardianship and Administration Tribunal
"Late last year I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Queensland Criminal Justice Centre (QCJC) website and I applaud its implementation. Many lawyers and other professionals have found that accessing adequate information resources can be a challenging task when working with people with impaired decision making capacity. Although the QCJC website is primarily focused on assisting legal practitioners representing persons with a mental illness or an intellectual in criminal matters before Queensland courts, access to resources and information relating to other areas of law that concern vulnerable groups would also be beneficial to all practitioners. The Guardianship and Administration Tribunal has a primary responsibility to those people in our community who have a decision making incapacity and who may be vulnerable because of their circumstances so it is with much pleasure that we augment the resources provided by the QCJC with information about the work of the Tribunal. On behalf of the Tribunal I wish the Justice Centre well with this new endeavour."
