3.2 - Intellectual Disabilities
An intellectual disability affects a person's cognitive ability and social and adaptive skills. Such disabilities include ‘Acquired Brain Injury', ‘Down's Syndrome', the Autistic spectrum and other learning disabilities. Such disabilities affect a person's ability to develop the skills typical to a person of their age. Such disabilities also inhibit the person's academic abilities and their ability to adapt to new or challenging circumstances.
